Phase 2: Corrective Care

Teaming Up for Optimal Health

Most chiropractors regard the elimination of symptoms as the easiest part of a person's care.  If Dr. Semlow were to reduce pain and stop there, the chances of the condition recurring would be much greater.  In order to prevent a rapid recurrence of symptoms, depending on your condition, it may be necessary to continue receiving care even though your symptoms are gone.

During the correction/restorative phase of care, it will not be necessary to receive adjustments as frequently as you did during the first phase of relief care and, depending on your particular circumstances, you may begin doing exercises and stretches at home to accelerate healing.

It is not uncommon to have mild flare ups in your symptoms, do not let this discourage you as it is normal.  Flare ups occur during this phase because your body has not completely healed.  Depending on the severity of your condition and how long you have been suffering from it, this phase of care may range from a few months to a couple of years.
